Our utmost priority
At MISC, we prioritise a strong health and safety culture which reinforces personal responsibility for health and safety matters within each of our employees. The importance of Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) is one of the fundamental cornerstones for business and operational continuity.
As it can have a critical impact on the organisation and the environment, health and safety are prerequisites when formulating plans, acquiring assets, making critical decisions, and managing total business risks. Our Health and Safety strategic priorities directly contributes to the third UNSDG by promoting the health and well-being of employees, contractors, and communities.
All our workplaces, activities, and services adhere to the applicable laws, regulations, internal standards, and procedures to protect the HSSE and well-being of employees, contractors, and communities.

Health and wellbeing programs
We have been organising online mindfulness sessions since 2020 through our corporate partner. These dedicated moments of mindfulness offer employees a valuable opportunity to pause, reflect, and cultivate a sense of mental clarity and emotional balance, which then enhance employee well-being, stress reduction, improved focus and communication, mental resilience, and promote creativity.
The MISC Ergonomic Programme is a comprehensive effort to promote workplace well-being. It includes ergonomic guidelines for better workspace design, e-learning resources for continuous learning, the Eyes Guard program to reduce digital eye strain, pop-up reminders for regular ergonomic practices, spine and posture screenings, and ergonomic awareness talks. These initiatives reflect our commitment to employee health, sustainability, and a productive work environment.
The MISC’s Employee Assistance Programme (myFriends) is all about taking care of our people. It means we're not just colleagues; we're a family that looks out for one another. With an EAP in place, we're providing the support and understanding our team needs during tough times, showing that we're here for each other, no matter what. It's a step towards a healthier, happier, and more connected workplace.
A Health Risk Assessment (HRA) is the systematic process we use to identify potential health hazards in our workplace. We then evaluate the associated risks to our employees' well-being, taking into account our current control measures and recovery plans. If necessary, we determine additional steps to further reduce these risks, ensuring a safer and healthier environment for everyone.
The Health Passport is a voluntary health screening program available to all employees. Its primary objective is to empower employees with a deeper understanding of their personal health risks by measuring factors such as blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure. This knowledge enables individuals to take proactive measures to mitigate potential health risks.
Regular health awareness sessions are conducted throughout the year in various engaging formats, including informative talks delivered by medical professionals, HSSE Moments, and a Health in 5 video series.
