ALAM supports MISC's long-term operational continuity by developing specialised maritime talent and strengthening maritime leadership capabilities. We equip maritime professionals with the competencies required to navigate evolving regulations, particularly in areas such as decarbonisation and future-fuel adoption, positioning both individuals and the organisation for continued success in a rapidly changing industry.
We deliver accredited maritime education and training for cadets, seafarers and maritime professionals through a wide range of programmes. These include nautical and marine engineering programmes, maritime and offshore safety courses, simulator-based courses and maritime management programmes, as well as research and consultancy services.
Our skilled and experienced academicians, supported by advanced simulator-based facilities and digital learning tools provide an immersive and interactive learning experience.
ALAM is operated by the Malaysian Maritime Academy Sdn. Bhd. (MMASB), a wholly-owned entity of MISC.

About ALAM
ALAM is the leading maritime training academy in Malaysia. Founded in 1977, ALAM has trained thousands of maritime professionals for both onshore and offshore operations. The 67-acre academy and training centre is located on a campus in Melaka, overlooking the busy Straits of Malacca.
ALAM houses internationally benchmarked maritime education and training facilities at its 75-acre campus, including full-mission simulators and specialised labs. Our well-equipped learning facilities, hostels and communal dining hall are designed with the students in mind. With advanced classrooms, workshops and simulation centres, ALAM is committed to providing you with every opportunity to achieve your full potential – professionally, intellectually and socially.

Recognition and licensing bodies
To ensure that ship personnel perform to the highest standards, ALAM's curriculum exceeds the requirements of International Maritime Organization's Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) and demands enhanced levels of competency attainment from its graduates.
