Brief Overview
Datex Field Service Management System utilizes both desktop and handheld hardware platforms. After creation of work orders in Charting Pro, all information is synchronized to the handheld application, where these work orders are completed. After the completion of work orders, the status of each work order is updated and synchronized back to Charting Pro.

It works like this; in Charting Pro employees create postings as usual. They then tell Charting Pro to send the postings to Datex FSMS for Outdoor Advertising. Charting Pro writes the important information into a temporary staging table. After this is done, the user launches Datex FSMS of Outdoor Advertising and tells the software to import the posting information. Work order information is extrapolated from the Charting Pro data.

Users of the mobile portion of the Datex FSMS application update and complete these work orders. The most important change is switching the status from "Incomplete" to "Complete". This is done on the handheld, or if needed on the Datex FSMS desktop application.

For synchronizing completed work order information with Charting Pro, a similar mechanism is used. When ready, a user opens the Datex FSMS desktop application and instructs it to export the work orders. The application again inserts the data into a temporary staging table. The user then tells Charting Pro to import the work orders. Charting Pro reads the data from the staging table and inserts it into the application tables and records. These steps are all seamless to the user.
