Toronto, Canada - October 20, 2004 - MISC, the leading provider of outdoor
software solutions today announces its active involvement with the out-of-home
advertising's newest industry association, the Mobile Advertising Council
of Canada, MACC (Toronto, ON).
The association will represent all companies offering advertising on
vehicles of any sort - including private car wraps and small vehicles
such as rickshaws, bicycles and pedicabs. MACC's mandate is to create
parameters that will govern how mobile advertising is monitored as an
industry; create opportunities to share information; present media buying
opportunities; and work collectively with other advertising associations
to accomplish a presence in the Canadian out-of-home advertising market.
The newly formed MACC council seeks to gain recognition as a mainstream
out-of-home advertising choice. By pooling the resources of mobile advertising
media companies, MACC will increase awareness of mobile advertising and
become an audited out-of-home medium. The goal is to create an industry-accepted,
and accredited by the Canadian Outdoor Measurement Bureau, method for
monitoring, auditing and proving the success of any given mobile campaign.
All members of MACC will have access to its services and methodologies.
Initial road tests have confirmed that mobile advertising media can deliver
amazing results for advertisers. MACC aims to prove it. Martin Weening,
co-founder, member of MACC's executive, and president of TransGlobal Media,
a Toronto-based truckside mobile advertising firm, says, "The impact
of MACC will create a recognition that will heighten awareness to the
advertising buying community and add much credibility to its members,
giving mobile advertising the boost that it needs to obtain a substantial
piece of the out-of-home ad market."
